Born in Durban and raised in Johannesburg, Mpofu discovered ceramics at just five years old, inspired by his late father — a talented potter whose artistry continues to guide his own. Through Mzoe Arts, Mpofu not only shares his passion for clay but also uplifts his community, employing and mentoring fellow artisans.

“Ceramic art connects me to my father,” Mpofu reflects. “It allows me to honor his memory while expressing my own creativity.”
