Presented as part of the Key West Art & Historical Society’s Tennessee Williams Key West Festival, Tennessee Rising: The Dawn of Tennessee Williams is an intimate theatrical experience featuring Jacob Storms’ internationally acclaimed solo play, originally directed for the stage by Alan Cumming.
This powerful biographical work illuminates the formative, often unexplored years of Thomas Lanier Williams and his journey toward becoming the iconic playwright Tennessee Williams. Written and performed by United Solo Award winner Jacob Storms, Tennessee Rising offers a poignant look at the influences and events that shaped one of America’s greatest dramatists — and the creation of his most iconic character: himself.
