Round the Circle - Folk Music Lesson & Session

Musicians of all levels are invited to come share the fun and fellowship of playing traditional acoustic music together. We will teach three new tunes or songs during the first hour of the session, then we'll have a slow play along jam hour, followed by an up-to-speed hour of fun. Go to http://www.FolkKeyWest.org see which tunes we'll be learning this week.

These sessions are free to all. Voluntary donations to help Williams Hall cover operating expenses are most welcome.

+ ABOUT THE HOSTS

Rachel and Jeff live on their sailboat and have traveled the coast from Key West to Maine collecting songs and tunes and being inspired by a wide variety of amazing folk musicians. There are many different interpretations of what "folk music" is, but one that we like is that folk music is the way that people say "We were here". Our sessions are not performances, they are best described as music that's played "for friends, by friends". Both are multi-instrumentalists Rachel plays concertina, fiddle, button box, Irish whistle, and Jeff plays mandolin, octave mandolin, mandocello and mando bass (hmmm, do you see a pattern?). All of their instruments are stuffed full of music, ready to pour out and share with others.
