Filmmakers of Key West, it’s time.

The 72-Hour Film Challenge is back for its 12th year and kicks off at Williams Hall on Monday, September 21 at 6PM. Filmmakers, directors, writers, actors, editors, and creative collaborators of all ages and experience levels are invited to take part.

Three days, zero sleep, and whatever footage you can wrangle before the clock runs out.

Here’s how it works: Just show up. That's it, that's the registration process. Bring your crew (or find one when you get there — strangers make surprisingly good collaborators under deadline pressure). You'll get your elements on the spot, and then you're off: 72 hours to write it, shoot it, edit it, and somehow still explain the plot to your friends afterward.

And yes — your finished film gets a real screening.

Your masterpiece (or beautiful disaster) hits the big screen in front of a real live audience. Popcorn will be involved. So will secondhand embarrassment, in the best way.
