Join Instructor Margo Ellis in this 3-week workshop as she teaches you, step by step how to ceate a lined backpack with handle for using as a purse including 3 front pockets, inside zipper pocket, fully lined. Pictured are large and small size. Small size makes a nice purse, medium for day trips, large for weekends

Classes meet 1-4pm, Wednesday, February 16, 23 and March 2nd.

NOTES:

• Basic sewing skilled required

• Rotary cutter and quilting skills helpful

Supplies required:

• 5 fat quarters or 3- ½ yard pieces, 1 ½ yards if one color. (Option of heavier fabric for outer bag like sunbrella or mid weight upholstery fabrics)
• ½ yard lining
• 1 ½ yds 1 inch webbing for straps
• 7 inch zipper
• Pattern - $7 ‘I will order them
• Thread, button for closure, cording for drawstring. I will have batting and cordlocks.
• Optional: Magnet closure, D rings and swivel hooks for purses ( available from teacher fo $3 for hooks, buckles D rings and magnetic closure.

Notes:

The Seam Shoppe is the only fabric store in town and their staff is very helpful. Look at the samples in the store of color ideas. They offer a 10% discount to my students.
