Quilting: Liberated Quilting

Join Instructor Margo Ellis in this 4-week workshop as you learn a quilting technique originated with Gwen Marston. It is a free piecing without worrying about precision or perfect seams. You can also bring unfinished projects you want help to finish or need help/advice on. Confident beginners welcome. Should know how to use a rotary cutter and sewing machine, wonky blocks using scraps, free-form cutting and piecing. No rulers used for basic blocks. You can select a background color or bring a variety of scraps in light, medium and dark. (There is fabric at Williams Hall for a small donation.)

Classes meet 1-4pm on Wednesday, August 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st.

Workshop Price: $140

Supplies:

  • Fabric pieces at least 3x6. Scraps or clean used fabrics can work. (Fabric available for a donation)

  • Thread

  • Rotary cutter (some available to use)

  • Sewing machine (some available at Williams Hall)

Notes:

The Seam Shoppe is the only fabric store in town and their staff is very helpful. Look at the samples in the store of color ideas. They offer a 10% discount to my students.
